Broken Tool Detector MSA-1
. |

Protect your machine tool, raw materials and production process against losses and detect broken tools before they break your profits.
The MSA-1 is a sensor for a variety of machine tools, designed to detect broken tools or missing objects. It has a built in actuator, which rotates a wand into position and senses the presence of drills, reamers and taps. If the tool is broken or the object to be sensed is missing, the probe will rotate past its switching point and generate an output signal which can be used to shut down the machine.
An infrared transmitter and receiver inside the unit in conjunction with SMD semiconductor electronics provide contactless reliable switching.
The MSA-1 is a very compact unit,
all functions are integrated into a 1/2 inch (i.d.) brass tube. No
external control box is required. A built-in optical indicator (LED)
signals the switching event for easy adjustment of the wand.

The MSA-1 can be supplied with two alternate flange options. A 24 V power supply is available for machines without built-in power supplies.
An optional Logic Inverter can be
added for applications where the opposite function is desired, i.e. where
clear space is required and the presence of an obstacle requires the shut-down
of the machine (or any alternate action).
Save cost by preventing damage.
Install a tool monitor.
The MSA-1 costs $ 745.00 in smaller quantities with discounts available for larger quantities.
