Broken Tool Detector MS-5
|

Prevent machine damage and the production of faulty parts with a cut-off tool sensor.
The MS-5 is designed to monitor the operation of the cut-off tool in CNC lathes. After each cut-off operation the machine moves the MS-5 to the work piece. If it is still there the MS-5 sends a signal to the CNC machine indicating that the cut-off tool has failed. This enables either the shutdown of the machine or resorting to an alternate tool position.
The unit contains an infrared transmitter and receiver. It is designed to work in an oily environment. There are no mechanical contacts, which wear out and would fail if contaminated by oil.
The sensor is mechanically and electrically
optimized for Citizen CNC machines, but can be employed in machines with
similar characteristics or adapted to other machines.
An optional acoustic signaling device
is available to alert the operator of a machine problem.
Tool monitors save money by preventing damage. Protect your investment and install a tool monitor.
The MS-5 costs $ 385.00 in small quantities.
